Accra, Ghana — Our journey as The A.M.E. Zion Church delegation to Ghana began with a warm and spirited welcome. Upon our arrival at the airport, we were greeted by Bishop Dogbe and ministers from the Western West Africa Episcopal District, marking the start of a culturally rich and spiritually meaningful trip.

When we arrived at the hotel, the excitement grew as we connected with other members of the Zion family who had also traveled to Ghana. The atmosphere was filled with joy and anticipation for what this week-long experience would hold.

That evening, we attended a special reception with state and political leaders, as well as the indigenous bishop of the CME Church. The reception highlighted the deep bonds of faith, leadership, and unity that transcend borders.

We were treated to an authentic Ghanaian culinary experience, savoring delicious local cuisine that reflected the rich flavors of the region. The fellowship was further enriched by the presence of faculty from Livingstone College, who plan to visit and observe various schools in the country throughout the week.

One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the exchange of gifts. Bishop Dohgbe and the missionary supervisor presented us with meaningful gifts, symbolizing the spirit of hospitality and unity. The night came alive with the sounds of beautiful music, featuring performances from members of the local church and a talented saxophonist, adding an extra layer of warmth to the celebration.

Our first day in Ghana was a powerful reminder of the global reach of The A.M.E. Zion Church and the rich cultural connections that can be nurtured through shared experiences of faith, learning, and community. As our journey continues, we look forward to more encounters that will inspire and strengthen the bonds between Zion and Ghana.
